Los Angeles International Airport Wayfinding Study

As a key member of the Wayfinding Study, our staff assisted in determining the best approach to inter and intra-terminal and pedestrian wayfinding. As a result of this study, a comprehensive Airport-wide Wayfinding Approach Principles and Criteria was developed. The study included:

  • Assessment and documentation of the strengths and weaknesses of existing wayfinding conditions
  • Surveys for both arriving and departing passengers
  • Journey Segment analysis for arriving, departing and connecting passengers and information at key decision points
  • Recommended naming format for new and existing facilities
  • Airport wide wayfinding strategy for static and digital systems
  • Benchmarked the use of nomenclature, symbols and wayfinding practices
  • Coordination and engagement with key stakeholders
